What is health anyway? Can health be measured? And what is the biopsychosocial model? These are exactly the topics we dealt with in the short project UI/UX Health.

Briefing

"The biopsychosocial model is now regarded as the most important theory for the relationship between body and mind. It has enabled the logical and empirical scientific problem of "psychosomatics", which has persisted for centuries, to be solved in a reasonably satisfactory way on a system-theoretical (and semiotic) basis. According to this model of a holistic understanding of illness, there can be no psychosomatic illnesses - just as there are no non-psychosomatic illnesses. Illness arises when the organism is unable to provide sufficient autoregulatory competence to cope with disorders occurring at any level of the "human" system and relevant control circuits for the individual's ability to function are overtaxed or fail. Due to the parallel interconnection of the system levels, it is not so important on which level or at which location a disorder is generated or becomes apparent, but rather what damage it is capable of causing on the respective system level, but also on the subordinate or superordinate systems.

In the biopsychosocial model, illness and health are not defined as a state, but as a dynamic process. From this perspective, health must be "created" every second of life."
